Our design boutique hotel embraces the philosophy of “Quiet Luxury.” To us, this means a natural, understated elegance that reveals itself in fine details and timeless quality, creating an atmosphere that allows for inner peace and relaxation. We want our guests to feel completely at ease and sense what it truly means to arrive – in a place where their wishes are respected and valued.

Behind the stieg’nhaus lies a holistic concept and a brand that aims to go beyond the ordinary, creating an experience for all senses.

The five senses enrich every experience, adding depth to memories and serving as windows to the soul.

Design Meets Supreme Quality

Our design concept is inspired by the aesthetic philosophy of Wabi Sabi.  It finds beauty in imperfection, transience, and simplicity, appreciating the natural world and its changes, and finding special elegance in everyday things that comes not from perfection, but through authenticity and simplicity. The architecture and various design elements that can be found throughout the building radiate this understated elegance, creating a harmonious atmosphere.

The staircase, which is known as “Stiege” in Austria gives our design boutique hotel its name and remains true to our design philosophy, preserved in its original form. It is the oldest part of the building and its imperfection gives it a special aura of warmth that invites you to feel home.

Various colours, materials, and scents are found throughout the stieg’nhaus. Every detail has been carefully selected and considered. Natural materials are in harmony with modern, high-quality furnishings, and soothing scents enhance the unique atmosphere, contributing to the concept of wellbeing. Thus results to a place of inner peace and relaxation and creates a familiar environment that radiates simple elegance and security through a mixture of contrasting and soft, paired with warm tones, natural materials and a harmonious interplay of light and shadow.

Our concept is rounded off by our culinary offerings, which combine elements of pasture, water, earth, fire, and nectar, inviting our guests to savour unique creations of the highest quality. Whether at our brunch, with a glass of wine on the terrace, or an evening by the Feuerring.

Our aspiration is to go beyond the standard and exceed expectations. We want our guests to feel understood and respected, especially when they are looking for something that goes beyond the ordinary.

A Brand with Soul

Our design boutique hotel represents not just the idea that our guests should feel comfortable and secure, but also an entire brand that embodies the soul of the house.

This is made visible in our architectural concept, which we developed with our architect Carolyn Herzog. Focusing on Alpine and Mediterranean influences combined with restrained elegance. Building on this, we have developed a cohesive corporate identity with our Salzburg agency Wuger – Brands in Motion GmbH that reflects us and our philosophy externally. Tailored to our values, our mission, and vision – meticulously detailed and unified in a coherent overall image: from an expressive claim, through our tonality and typography, to our imagery and colour scheme.

Expressed through the claim “pure and present,” we illustrate what the stieg’nhaus stands for: a place of inspiration with natural elegance and a fine intuition for all senses, where one arrives, is in the moment, and enjoys. It is an authentic place that embraces and radiates the concept of Wabi Sabi. Quality, design, and satisfaction take centre stage, embodied through fine restraint and mindful dedication evident in every detail, felt in every moment of the stay.

Aligned with this, our logo symbolises the heart of the house, which has given our design boutique hotel its name: The staircase. The central circle of the logo is reminiscent of the “Ensō,” a symbol of Japanese calligraphy representing enlightenment, strength, and elegance. Painting the “Ensō” also signifies a moment when consciousness is free, and body and mind are unimpeded in their creative process.

Our world of colour and image comprises thoughtfully considered primary and secondary colours that depict a harmonious interplay with subtle accents. A delicate colour scheme ranging from Warm Grey and Cotton Seed to Bitter Green, Blue, and Brown Rust emits a balanced warmth and comforting atmosphere that targets the characteristic of “Quiet Luxury.” Combined with our typography, we create a mood-setting overall image that lends our brand clarity, elegance, and style.

At the same time, we aim to inspire with our imagery and create an atmosphere that and invites to switch off, let go and arrive. Finding inner peace, being in the moment, and enjoying. Feelings and emotions are in focus, highlighting that personal wellbeing is central to the stay.

Our mission is to use our holistic brand concept to create an authentic place characterised by subtle restraint and mindful devotion. A place that offers an atmosphere of trust, inspires, and leaves lasting impressions for all the senses.
